Onwards for Immigration justice!

You may have a case where you reasonably expect some monetary compensation but you feel that you cannot afford to hire a lawyer or paralegal to represent you. Be informed that either one may take your case on a contingency basis. What this means is that you are not obligated to make a large initial payment to your hired professional upon agreeing to have him/her represent you.
In a contingency retainer fees are dependent on the outcome of the case, either as a ruling or negotiated settlement. At the end of the case, and only if you win, are you to pay your representing counsel what you agreed to, plus disbursements, plus HST.
In fact, there are different ways for you to deal with contingengy fees. Please inform yourself by reading the following LSO published information on this topic.
I offer a contingency fee retainer from a minimum 30% to a maximum 40% of the compensation paid to the client, including costs. However, depending on the case, this percentage amount may vary.
That being said, please also be informed that independent paralegals running their own private practices are precluded from representing clients in Family Law and in serious, indictable criminal offenses, as well as in matters before the Superior Court of Ontario, , in appeals before the Federal Court, or at the Supreme Court of Canada.
As well, paralegals are precluded from representing clients in matters dealing with real estate, inheritance, and wills. Lastly, paralegals can only represent clients in their immigration or refugee hearings and are not allowed to assist in the processing of applications for permanent residency, refuge, student visas, or in immigration appeals at the higher courts.
That is why, if you are in such situation, you are to hire me as a Regugaled Canadian Immigration Consultant, with authority to represent you at all levels and before any government agency dealing with migratory matters. I will represent you as a Paralegal and defend your rights before the courts and administrative tribunals in matters having to do with:

    • Small Claims Court matters whose quantum falls below $35,000.00.
    • Statutory Accident Benefits claims for motor vehicle accident injuries or slip and fall and other accidents in private or public property
    • Wrongful or unjustified dismissal from your employ
    • WSIB – Worker’s Safety and Insurance Board – for job related injuries
    • IRB – Immigration and Refugee Board – Refuge, removal, visa revocation hearings
    • Citizenship refusal or revocation hearings
    • Human Rights – Hearings for discrimination or other offences
    • Minor criminal matters – summarily prosecuted – with fines less than $5,000 and sentences less than six months
